  • HP OMEN

The HP Omen series is related to the gaming world that is expanding its boundaries every day. With all high-end specs and features, HP is trying to keep it up in the league.

Introduction

New HP Omen 15 and Omen 17 are out to provide some serious competition to the known gaming platform developers and manufacturers. Both laptops feature brilliant specifications and tweaks for gamers, HP has thought seriously about what the gamers need today. While Omen 15 is released in different variants, the base version features Intel Core i5 processor and 2GB NVIDIA graphics and the top-end version sports Intel Core i7 and 6GB NVIDIA graphics while the display size remains the same 15.6-inch for Omen 15 series. The Omen 17 features a massive 17.3-inch of display, Intel Core i7, and 16GB expandable RAM. The two variants of Omen 17 series vary in the video memory typically.

Sneak Peek

Omen 15 series is launched with 5 different models where the base version features 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7300HQ clocked at 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 RAM (upgradable to 16GB), ATA 1TB HDD and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 having 2GB GDDR5 video RAM. COOL LOOKS AND OLD DESIGN!!

Design That Has Two Faces…

The new HP Omen 15 laptops still have red accents and LED lighting, the design does give a vibe of an expensive device in hand. A dual fan system relocated cool vents, and more heat pipes bring a neat 22 percent increase in airflow inside the system, which really helps in keeping the system cool. Narrow vents on the back give the impression of jet exhaust ports and the notebook is built with beveled cuts where there’s an edge or a corner. In the other HP Omen 17 series, the shiny fire-engine-red Voodoo logo glows in the top-center panel highlighted by the four blood-red matte darts forming an X at the center of the lid. The Omen 17’s interior panel is made of black furbished aluminum and looks stylish on the laptop.

Enhanced Display and Audio Boost 2.0

The base model of the Omen 15 series comes with a 15.6-inch LED backlit display of 1920×1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution and color gamut of 45 percent while the high-end model sports a 15.6-inch LED backlit display of 3840×2160 pixels (UHD) resolution and color gamut of 72 percent. Display enabled with G-Sync and with a refresh rate of 120Hz, makes it even more modern and appealing. In Omen 17 series, both models come with a 17.3-inch LED backlit display of 1920×1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution and color gamut of 72%. The notebooks are combined with Bang & Olufsen audio with HP’s exclusive Audio Boost 2.0 with a discrete amplifier.

TYPING MADE COMFORTABLE

Old Fashioned And Tweaked Keyboard and Touchpad

New HP Omen laptops feature a dragon-red backlit island-style keyboard and a numeric keypad with a special highlight for WASD keys and HP ImagePad supporting multi-touch gesture. Moreover, Omen 15’s trackpad itself possesses two physical buttons underneath, which gives it a nice touch. The keys also have a precise amount of distance between them so as to avoid errors and so that the gamer need not move fingers too much. Moreover, there’s ‘26-key rollover anti-ghosting’ so you can use as many keys as you like in-game. The Omen 17 offers a 1.5-millimeter key travel that contributes to a comfortable typing experience. The 4 x 2.2-inch touchpad seems small but is big enough to support the fingers all over.

FEEL LIKE HANDLING A GIANT!

Superb Performance

With NVIDIA GeForce Graphics, it is clear that the gaming experience on the Omen 15 and 17 series is going to be a great one. Moreover, all the display, audio, Graphics card and cooling system specs combined provide it a must needed thrust for a superb gaming experience. Furthermore, the Intel Core i5 and i7 chipset on respective models provide a stable power for the other features to work smoothly. Omen 17’s performance has been recorded to be one of the best in the area also.

TERRIBLE BATTERY, BETTERMENT REQUIRED

Battery With No Life

The Omen 15s face the issue that most of the gaming platforms go through. The battery life in Omen 15s is not good at it should be and even not close to what may be called Average. The same is with the Omen 17s where the fact may be taken into account that they have a heavy-duty power that eats up most of the juice.
